Antigua: King’s Casino patron wins $700,000

A local businessman has won the biggest jackpot ever to be paid out in the history of gaming in Antigua & Barbuda.

The man, whose name is being withheld in keeping with local casino standards, has pocketed just under $700,000 after accumulating a hand that produced a royal flush during a Caribbean Stud Poker game at King’s Casino in Heritage Quay last Saturday afternoon.

“This is easily the biggest win ever in the history of gaming in Antigua & Barbuda and this after we just paid out a further $70,000 to another local at the same game just a matter of days before,” General Manager Emilio Fagalde, said.

“The fellow was in here (King’s Casino) a little while before and had to leave but he returned to win the biggest payout ever in this establishment and certainly on the island. As usual, this casino honours its obligations and rest assured that this man already has his winnings in his possession.

“King’s Casino is happy for the player and we are also very happy that this has happened to a local businessman, who we are sure will be making sure that this huge payout continues to circulate in this country as opposed to if it was won by a visitor who would have been looking to leave this country with it,” Fagalde added.

He said that another player won over $300,000 some years ago but that record winning amount at that time now pales in comparison to what was paid out to the most recent big winner.
