Christmas in jail for woman perpetrator in casino robbery
Antigua: Bail was denied Brinette Holborough of Kentish Village who was charged with the robbery of a casino employee.
Holborough appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Maureen Payne-Hyman where she was told the court had no jurisdiction to grant bail for the offence. As a result, she will spend Christmas at Her Majesty’s Prison.
She was remanded in custody until June next year, the date of the preliminary inquiry.
The police recovered US and EC currency in excess of $7,000 when they executed a search warrant on her home.

She reportedly spent over two hours gambling and lost all her money.
The woman then reportedly went to the female attendant at the cash register, showed the attendant her bag, told her she had a gun inside and demanded the attendant hand over her money.

But a surveillance camera captured the entire episode. The camera and its recording is expected to be produced as evidence in the trial.
