Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino celebrated its 10th anniversary in a traditional gambling style: by rising the winning stakes for that night to N$1 million. Since it was the 10th anniversary, the celebration was held on the evening of 10 October, and the draw for the winner of the 1-million was held precisely at 10:10 pm.
About 34 people were given the chance to gamble for the million, but unfortunately none of them were able to get their hands on it. But Gilbert Adams did walk away with N$55000 - the biggest money paid out that night.
