Uganda: Pyramid Casino
Big-time gamblers can now add a new casino onto their list – as the new Pyramids Casino opened its doors. Located on Yusuf Lule Road after the Irish Embassy in Kampala, the new casino as its name suggests is endowed with the Egyptian pyramid architecture.
And while it’s placed a few metres outside the city centre, the avenue, surrounded with trees, and kempt gardens, gives a serene environment for relaxation. The new casino is run by Audley Ltd, a company that owns Kampala Casino. As you enter, you are welcomed by two gigantic pyramids and several artistic impressions. An external restaurant also, has been created for those that may not be interested in gambling.
The casino management, besides the ample parking space, and the tight security, boasts of Marcus Mitchell a Kenyan Briton from Zimbabwe, who unveiled a fusion of cuisine, blending African and continental dishes. Unlike other casinos around town however, Pyramid casino has a smaller but posh gaming area. Some of the games you will find here include three card pokers, two black jacks, one pon toon and three roulettes. A private gambling area has been reserved for those that may not want to be part of the big gaming area.
What’s most attractive about the casino is its interior whose wall colours and lighting leaves an impression of the desert on an Egyptian evening.
Asked whether with the booming casino business, Pyramids Casino will be able to compete, Jonathan Bakwega the finance and administration manager was more than confident.
“We are bringing something new on the market, it’s unique. Our clients will decide for themselves, because at the end of the day it is the quality of your service that matters.”
He estimated the cost of setting up the casino
to be $800,000.
